Join us for the 9/11 Ruck Memorial Event as we honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who served on September 11, 2001. Beginning at dawn, participants will step off from Gibbs Stadium and ruck through downtown Spartanburg, returning for a powerful morning of remembrance and unity.

Start Time: 4:15 a.m. – Opening remarks and National Anthem
Ruck Step-off: 4:30 a.m. through downtown Spartanburg
Finish Time: Approximately 6:30–7:00 a.m. at Gibbs Stadium (near Verandah Lot)

Following the ruck, we will commemorate the steps of first responders by running the western stadium steps at Gibbs. The morning will conclude with a special contracting ceremony, as three of our Cadets take their oath and formally begin their journey toward becoming Army officers.

This community-wide event has received tremendous support from Wofford staff, Campus Safety, local first responders, and the broader Spartanburg community. We are also honored to have participation from Wofford’s men’s tennis team, women’s lacrosse team, “Boss,” several professors, and campus partners standing alongside us to remember, reflect, and move forward together.
