Welcome to ASL Club!
At this meeting we will introduce the ASL Club, discussing what we stand for and what events we have planned for this semester.
Here is our order of events for the meeting
1. Introductions of the executive ASL Club Board (In ASL and English) 2. Introductions of ASL Club members (Yes that is all of you, I promise it wont be scary [In ASL and English]) 3. Presentation on what is ASL Club and what we do. This portion of the meeting explains ASL club, the ASL department, Deaf event hours, on vs off campus events, how many hours you need for your ASL class, and resources for events to attend off campus. (In English) 4. Present the lineup of all ASL Club events for the semester including ASL art, Deaf culture and signing the human body :0! (This is going to be super fun and exciting trust me [In English)] 5. Deaf Culture lesson. What does it mean to be hearing impaired? Are you Deaf or deaf? The Deaf experience/ASL and how do hearing students fit into that? (In English with a little ASL signing) 6. Finally we will do a short ASL lesson on expressions in ASL and what’s causes those emotions. (This will be fully in ASL and very fun)
