Victory Day

Join Gardner-Webb Football for the First Victory Day Celebration on Aug. 17

Coach Cris Reisert is eager to introduce our players and the community to a tradition he first observed in 2019—Victory Day! Partnering with Cleveland County Special Olympics and North Shelby School, we invite everyone to join the celebration. The event is free to attend!

At Spangler Stadium, young people with special needs will have an extraordinary opportunity to play football with the GW Runnin’ Bulldogs and cheer with the Bulldog Cheerleaders. Each child will be paired with a GWU football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentor for the evening. They will don a Gardner-Webb game jersey and participate in a variety of simulated game-day activities. Each child will have their moment to shine as they score a touchdown and celebrate while the Marching Bulldog Band plays the school fight song. After the game, the children will receive a medal to commemorate their victory.

Registration is free! To register a child with special needs for the event, email tjohns@gardner-webb.edu with their name, age, T-shirt size, and emergency contact information.
